Summer Family Vacation in Vietnam - 13 Days

Arrival in Hanoi. In the Arrivals Hall, your driver stands with a sign with your name applied, helps you out to the car and drives to the centrally located hotel. The hotel is located in the old quarter of the city with its nice narrow commercial streets and within walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake and Dong Xuan Market, both of which are some of Hanoi’s landmarks.

Free in the morning to just extend a good night’s sleep, so that any lack of sleep from the flight can be obtained.

In the afternoon you will be picked up by the guide and will be cycling around the old town in a bicycle rickshaw. You jump off the road and walk through the last streets past St. Joseph’s Cathedral and down to the water puppet theater, where you will see a performance. Later you will have dinner in a beautiful Colonial French style villa.

By car with driver and guide on tour to the city’s main attractions: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Presidential Palace. President Ho Chi Minh’s pile house. The one-pillar pagoda. Vietnam’s first university Van Mieu. You end with lunch before being brought back to the hotel.

Get off by car to Halong. In a traditional Junk you will be traveling around Halong bay with its marvelous limestone landscape on a 2 day 1 night cruise. Along the way, a dripstone cave is visited, you pass a floating fishing village and there is the opportunity to rent a kayak.

Overnight stay in cabins with own toilet / bath.

You stand up to this peculiar natural landscape, and continue your boat trip in Halong Bay until the end of the morning. Ashore, your driver is waiting and driving you to the hotel in Hanoi.

Transfer to the airport. Flights to Dalat, founded by the French colonists in the 1920s. The city differs markedly from other places in Vietnam with its special architecture, ambience and upland landscape. Your driver stands in the arrivals hall and drives you to the hotel. Free after check in.

This morning’s guided tour starts at Vietnam’s last emperor’s summer residence. The city tour also takes you by jeep to the top of Lian Biang mountain, where you have a magnificent view of the city and the valleys, and afterwards visit a nearby minority village. In the feel of the Dalat’s central market and tasting some of the area’s dry fruit specialties.

Time on your own in the afternoon.

From the outskirts you take a mountain lift to Tuyen Lam flower park. You enter the Datanla waterfall via a special roller coaster. You visit Hang Nga house, which is probably Vietnam’s most odious building and reminiscent of a wizard’s castle.

Lunch at a restaurant in a former housing enclave for the senior people of the former French colonial government.

In the afternoon you drive to the coast, where from you sail a short trip to the tropical island of Whale Island.

3 full days off. Whale Island Resort is the island’s only residence. Here, a Robinson Crusoe-like mood prevails. The bungalows are nestled beneath the coconut trees near the beach edge, where the turquoise blue water gently floats on the beach. You get a quick low resting heart rate, a relaxed feeling in the body and you will enjoy the days when the connection to the rest of the world seems disconnected for a time.

Free until transfer to the airport. Flights to Ho Chi Minh City. Airport pick up and transfer to hotel in the city center. Ho Chi Minh City, formerly called Saigon, is the country’s largest city with 10 million people and an atmospheric city at high speed, and is in stark contrast to the tranquility that you have just left on Whale Island.

Free until airport transfer. The city center offers various options ranging from sightseeing of the historical sights, museum visits, cheap shopping in markets and shopping malls. Try to sit down at a coffee or juice bar and look at the jam. It is an experience in itself. In the afternoon or early in the evening by car to Ho Chi Minh City Airport. Departure.
