Day 1

Fly to the vibrant Vietnamese capital Hanoi and stay overnight.

Day 2

Drive to breathtaking Halong Bay. Spend the day on a cruise amidst spectacular ocean landscapes fringed by jagged karst formations jutting out of emerald green waters. Halong Bay, with its 1,600 islands and islets, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and is a vision of stunning beauty. Spend the night aboard a traditional garbage boat.

Day 3
Day 3: Water puppets

After brunch on board, return to Hanoi for a traditional water puppet show.

Day 4

Take a morning tour of the enchanting Hoi An. A wonderfully relaxed, graceful and willfully traditional place. The streets of the city, lined with lanterns, shops and tailors, are a joy to wander around, especially since the traffic is completely banished from the city center. Visit an old merchant house, the ornate Japanese covered bridge, a Chinese temple and the lively market. Stop by to visit Reaching Out, a craft workshop for social businesses, and watch the craftsmen at work. Vietnamese cuisine is known all over the world for its innovative use of fresh ingredients and spices – learn all about the local products and skills this evening in a hands-on cooking class.

Day 6

Fly to Saigon. With a seamless blend of past and present, Saigon offers a high-octane drive into the ever-improving future of Vietnam. While this lush city is the driving force of modern Vietnam, there is also a treasure trove of fascinating heritage to discover here. Visit the neoclassical main post office designed by Gustave Eiffel – a grandiose legacy of a colonial past. Visit the Reunification Palace and the Cool War Museum, where the brutality of the war and its victims is well documented. Bargain on the Ben Thanh market for a bargain.

Day 7

Travel to Ben Tre for a cruise on the mighty Mekong. This area is known as the “Vietnam’s Rice Basket”, a rich and fertile land that produces huge amounts of rice, coconuts, vegetables and tropical fruits. Paddle through the labyrinth of palm-fringed canals, get a glimpse of daily life in the Mekong Delta, and enjoy a lunch of typical Mekong dishes. Return to Saigon.

Day 8

Watch the horror of guerrilla warfare in the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels, where you can see the legendary network of tunnels used by the Viet Cong to infiltrate South Vietnam during the war. Then drive to the center of Saigon to see the Notre Dame Cathedral and the neoclassical main post office. Also visit the Palace of Reunification; and the cool War Remnants Museum. Finally, browse the vibrant Ben Thanh Market. Enjoy this evening a performance of the AO Show – a music, dance and acrobatics spectacle at the Saigon Opera House.

Day 9

Spend your day at leisure before flying to the airport and returning to Australia the same day or the next.

How far in advance can I book?

You can book as far as 24 months in advance, but please ensure you remember you have made the reservation. We will charge 20% of total rate is required upon the confirmation of services require full payment 60 days before departure.

You can expect to receive the invoice as a reminder well in advance of your trip.

What is the latest time that I can make my reservation?

We can only guarantee bookings made at least 3-working days (not including Sun & Public holidays) before the departure date.

What if the preferred hotel is not available?

You will be notified via an e-mail (within 24 hours after placing your order) and we will do our best to suggest or book an alternative similar hotel based on your preferences and our experience.
