The Ministry Health of Vietnam has just issued Document No. 1265/BYT-DP to ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-attached agencies; People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities on the prevention of COVID-19 epidemic for people on entry.

According to the Ministry of Health, the number of new COVID-19 cases per day in our country is still high, the Omicron variant has been recorded in the community. However, the rate of vaccination against COVID-19 in our country has reached a high level (as one of the countries with a high rate of vaccine coverage in the world), and the number of severe cases and deaths due to COVID-19 is still increasing but well controlled.

Continuing to implement Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP of the Government on temporary regulations “Safely adapting, flexibly, effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic”, the Ministry of Health (Standing Body of the Steering Committee) National COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control) guides the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures for people entering Vietnam as follows:

1. Requirements on epidemic prevention and control for people on entry

1. For people entering by air: Must have a negative test result for SARS-CoV-2 (except for children under 2 years old) before departure within 72 hours if using RT-PCR/RT method -LAMP or within 24 hours if the rapid antigen test method for SARS-CoV-2 virus is used and certified by the competent authority of the country performing the test.

2. For people entering by other routes (land, waterway, railway): There must be the same test as for entry by air.

In case there is no negative test result for SARS-CoV-2 as specified above, a SARS-CoV-2 test must be performed within the first 24 hours (by RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method or by RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method). rapid antigen test for SARS-CoV-2 virus) since entry.

If the test results are negative, they are allowed to leave the accommodation and take preventive measures against the epidemic according to regulations.

If the test result is positive, it must be reported immediately to the local health authority for instructions on timely handling.

Children under 2 years old who are not required to be tested for SARS-CoV-2, have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, or have never been infected with SARS-CoV-2 are allowed to enter and participate in activities outside their accommodation. with parents, and relatives.

2. Make a medical declaration before entering the country

The Ministry of Health requires that people on entry must make a medical declaration before entering and use the medical declaration application (PC-COVID) during their stay in Vietnam according to regulations.

At the border gate if you have symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection (fever; cough; sore throat; runny nose, stuffy nose; body aches, fatigue, chills; decrease or loss of taste; decrease or loss of sense of smell; pain);, headache; diarrhea; difficulty breathing; respiratory infection…) immediately notify the health agency at the border gate to take medical measures as prescribed.

Within 10 days from the date of entry: self-monitor, if there are symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection (fever; cough; sore throat; runny nose, stuffy nose; body aches, fatigue, chills; decreased or lost taste; decreased or lost sense of smell; pain, headache; diarrhea; difficulty breathing; respiratory inflammation…) must immediately notify the nearest medical facility for directions. timely lead and management; take preventive measures: regularly wear a mask, and disinfect hands with an antiseptic solution.

For those who have not tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 before leaving the country: during the process of moving from the entry border to the place of residence, stop and park along the way; Avoid close contact with people around.
