Conclude in Phnom Penh, where the bustling energy of Cambodia’s capital awaits. This Vietnam Cambodia Cruise offers an immersive cultural experience, showcasing the rich traditions and stunning landscapes along the Mekong River.
Lunch at Le Longanier Restaurant (for Upstream 1). Đờn ca tài tử performance (traditional Mekong instrumental music) on board the ship: sundowners cocktail and welcome dinner on board. Depart Saigon via coach and drive towards Can Tho, the beating heart of the Mekong Delta. Stop at the rustic, riverside town of Cai Be, where lunch is served at the elegant Le Longanier Restaurant set amidst lush fruit trees by the river.
Continue to Can Tho, arriving mid-afternoon and board the Victoria Mekong Cruise Ship. As the ship cruises towards Long Xuyen, watch the sunset over the Hau River, sundowner in hand. As day turns into night, enjoy a traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music performance known as don ca tai tu, followed by a Vietnamese dinner to officially welcome you aboard your Victoria Mekong Cruise. Overnight near Long Xuyen.
Visit Long Xuyen Floating Market and the Traditions Museum in Long Xuyen
Travel by motor cart to visit Tiger Island (plant pot, incense making, and Tiger Temple). Tender ashore to visit the authentic Long Xuyen Floating Market and the An Giang Traditions Museum, which has fascinating exhibits on the region's Vietnamese, Chinese, Khmer, and Cham cultures. During lunch, the ship sails before anchoring near Tiger Island. Head ashore by sampan, explore Tiger Island by "xe loi," visit a plant pot, and make incense. Visit a pagoda locally known as "Mr. Tiger's Temple" to hear the story that won the island's name. Return on board in time for cocktail competition as the ship continues cruising to Vam Nao, where we stay overnight.
Visit Clay Stove Village Visit Tra Su Forest (optional)
Visit a famous Silk Farm village to observe the traditional process of producing silk using only natural products (silk thread, dyes made of tree bark, leaves, and fruit).
Lion Dance performance on the ship Wake up to another leisurely breakfast as the boat cruises towards Phu Tan, the provincial capital of An Giang in the Mekong Delta—tender ashore to visit “Ca Rang craft village,” a cooking stove made of clay. Ca Rang is the name of a cooking stove made of clay by the people in the countryside, but perhaps the Khmer liked this type of stove the earliest. Clay cooking stove was a unique feature of Southern residents hundreds of years ago. Have lunch on board as the ship continues sailing to Tan Chau, heading by sampan to the shore, where you will then board a local rickshaw to a silk village to witness all the labor-intensive steps to producing this delicate textile, including the use of natural dyes made from tree bark, leaves, and fruit. Return to the ship in time for a traditional Vietnamese lion dance, followed by dinner and the evening’s entertainment. Overnight in Tan Chau.
Take part in a day cruise to Phnom Penh, including border crossing. Many activities will be organized on board to entertain passengers. Khmer Dances performance on board the ship upon arrival in Phnom Penh. Farewell dinner As the boat begins cruising towards the Vietnam - Cambodia border, start the day on the Sky Deck or by the Infinity Pool, followed by a leisurely breakfast in the restaurant. After, please select from the many on-board activities, including a ship’s tour, a mini-golf, or simply enjoy the scenery as we sail towards Phnom Penh and cross the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. We arrive late afternoon in the charming capital of Phnom Penh, once known as the “Pearl of the Orient” for its French colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards, and scenic riverwalk. Before the farewell dinner, take in a lively performance of Khmer Apsara dancing with the opportunity to meet the performers afterward. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
