Quick answer

Yes, Vietnam works well for Muslim travellers on a private tour. We arrange halal meals on request and recommend restaurants we know by name, rather than promising that everything is halal; we plan each day around prayer times; and both Hanoi (Al-Noor Mosque, Hang Luoc Street) and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon Central Mosque, Dong Du Street) have mosques in the centre.

Any of our private tours can be adapted this way, for example our 14-day north-to-south tour from US$2,014 per person (2 travellers sharing in 4★ hotels; price confirmed in your tailor-made quote).

This page is for Muslim families and couples planning a private trip to Vietnam, from the Gulf, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UK or anywhere else. It explains what we can arrange and links to the tours and guides that help you plan.

What we arrange on a Muslim-friendly private tour

  • Halal meals on request: we book restaurants we know and tell you honestly where halal food is and is not available. Seafood and vegetable dishes are easy to find, and alcohol-free welcome dinners are simple to arrange.
  • Prayer times: each day is planned around prayer, and Friday prayers can be built into the itinerary in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Privacy for families: your own vehicle and driver sized to your group and luggage, your own guide, and hotels chosen with you.
  • A comfortable pace: two or three nights in each place, with time to rest.

    Frequently asked questions

Is halal food easy to find in Vietnam?

Not everywhere. There are halal restaurants in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the main tourist towns, and seafood and vegetable dishes are widely available. We arrange halal meals on request and recommend places we know by name.

    Are there mosques in Vietnam?

Yes. In central Hanoi there is the Al-Noor Mosque on Hang Luoc Street, and in Ho Chi Minh City the Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia Al-Muslimin) on Dong Du Street.

Can you plan the trip around Ramadan or Eid?

Yes. Tell us your dates and we will adjust meal times, sightseeing hours and the pace. Around Eid and in the December–April peak, hotels and private guides fill early, so send us your dates in advance.

Do Gulf citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Gulf nationalities are not visa-exempt. The official e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry.
