Quick answer

A Vietnam and Bali honeymoon works best in two weeks: about nine days in Vietnam for Hanoi, an overnight cruise on Ha Long Bay, Hue, lantern-lit Hoi An and Saigon, then four or five days of villas, rice terraces and sunsets in Bali.

With Metta Voyage it is fully private – your own guide and driver in each place, a private English-speaking guide; guides in your language on request. The Vietnam part starts from US$1,454 per person (9 days) and our 6-day Bali tour from US$570, so two weeks start from about US$2,024 per person plus the flight to Bali (2 sharing, 4★, prices as listed). Your final price is confirmed in your tailor-made quote.

When to go

February to April is the sweet spot for both: north Vietnam is mild, central Vietnam is dry and Bali’s rainy season is easing. From May to August Bali is dry and sunny while Vietnam is hot, with summer showers in the north. Central Vietnam has its rainy season from about September to December, so in those months we give Hoi An fewer days. See the best time to visit Vietnam.

Visas and official sources

  • Vietnam: e-visa on the official portal evisa.gov.vn (British and many European citizens can visit visa-free for 45 days). See our Vietnam e-visa guide.
  • Visa: most visitors need an Indonesian visa on arrival or e-VOA, which you can buy in advance on the official Indonesian immigration e-visa site (IDR 500,000, valid for 30 days).
  • Bali tourist levy: every foreign visitor pays IDR 150,000 per entry to Bali; pay online at the official Love Bali site before you fly.

Frequently asked questions

Is two weeks enough for a Vietnam and Bali honeymoon?

Yes. Spend nine or ten days in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hue, Hoi An) and four or five days in Bali (Ubud and a beach). With three weeks you can add the Mekong Delta or more beach time.

How much does a Vietnam and Bali honeymoon cost?

Two weeks start from about US$2,024 per person for 2 sharing in 4★ hotels: our 9-day Vietnam tour from US$1,454 plus our 6-day Bali tour from US$570. Flights are extra and 5★ hotels or villas raise the price; the final price is in your quote.

Should we do Vietnam or Bali first?

Vietnam first. It is the busier, more cultural part of the trip, and Bali’s villas and beaches make a relaxing ending before the long flight home.

How do we get from Vietnam to Bali?

Fly from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi to Denpasar: about four to five hours direct on some days, or with a connection in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. We plan the flight with the rest of the trip.

Do you arrange private guides in both countries?

Yes. You have a private English-speaking guide and driver in Vietnam and a private driver-guide in Bali; guides in your language are available on request.
