Quick answer

Metta Voyage is a local tour operator (DMC) based in Hanoi, licensed by Vietnam’s National Authority of Tourism for international travel (licence 01-1167/2023/CDLQGVN-GP LHQT). We plan private, tailor-made trips across Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and add Thailand on request: 4–5★ hotels, your own guide and driver in each country, flights between countries arranged for you and one team on call 24/7.

Our Indochina tours on sale run 14 to 21 days, from US$1,960 per person (14 days, as listed on the tour page, 2 travellers sharing). The final price is in your tailor-made quote.

Since late 2019 we have looked after more than 10,100 international guests on over 2,000 bookings, and we are rated 4.9/5 on Tripadvisor (Travellers’ Choice 2025). This page explains what a local Indochina operator does, which routes we run, how we plan, and what to know if you are travelling from the UK, the USA or Australia.

What a local Indochina operator does for you

  • One contract, three countries. One itinerary, one invoice and one team in Hanoi, rather than separate agencies in each country.
  • Your own guide in each country. English-speaking local guides and private drivers in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos; other languages on request.
  • Flights between countries. We plan the order of the countries around flight days and border rules, and book the regional flights listed in your itinerary.
  • Visa and border checks. We check every entry point in your route – for example, the Lao e-visa does not work at Vietnam land borders and the Cambodian e-visa is not accepted for river arrivals – and tell you which visa to get.
  • 4–5★ hotels chosen for you. Heritage and boutique hotels with character, matched to your budget, plus quiet time built into longer trips.
  • 24/7 support. A Vietnam hotline (+84 812 247 572, WhatsApp) answers during your whole trip.

Travelling from the UK, the USA or Australia

From the UK

Vietnam Airlines flies nonstop from London Heathrow to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, so most British guests start in Vietnam and finish in Cambodia or Laos, flying home via a regional hub. British citizens can visit Vietnam for 45 days without a visa (current rule until 14 March 2028); Cambodia and Laos need a visa. Call our UK number, +44 7520 660929.

From the USA

The only nonstop flight between the USA and Vietnam is Vietnam Airlines from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh City; from other cities you connect in Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei or Hong Kong. US citizens need a visa for all three countries: Vietnam’s official e-visa (up to 90 days), the Cambodian e-visa or visa on arrival, and a Lao visa. Our US number is +1 929 491 2828.

From Australia

Vietnam Airlines flies nonstop from Sydney and Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and Vietjet also flies to Ho Chi Minh City, so a two- or three-week Indochina trip fits easily into Australian holidays. Australians need visas for Vietnam (e-visa), Cambodia and Laos. Talk to us on WhatsApp, +84 812 247 572.

Visa details: Vietnam e-visa · Cambodia visa · Laos e-visa. Prices are quoted in US dollars. Flight schedules change; check with the airline.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Indochina tour operator for a private trip?

Look for a licensed local operator with its own team on the ground, private guides in each country and clear prices. Metta Voyage is licensed in Vietnam (licence 01-1167/2023/CDLQGVN-GP LHQT), plans private trips across Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and is rated 4.9/5 on Tripadvisor.

How much does a private Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos tour cost?

Our three-country tours on sale start from US$1,960 per person for 14 days and US$3,400 for 20 days, as listed on the tour pages for 2 travellers sharing. International flights are extra; the final price is in your tailor-made quote.

How many days do I need for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos?

Fourteen days is the minimum for the highlights; 17 to 21 days lets you add Phnom Penh, the Mekong Delta or more time in Luang Prabang without rushing.

Do I need separate visas for each country?

Usually yes. Vietnam has an e-visa (British and many European citizens are exempt for 45 days), and Cambodia and Laos have e-visas or visas on arrival, each valid only at certain entry points. We check your route before you apply.

Can you add Thailand?

Yes. Our 21-day tour links Vietnam, Cambodia and Bangkok, and we can add Chiang Mai or a beach. Thailand–Cambodia land borders are currently closed, so we connect by air.

Tell us your dates and we will send a draft Indochina itinerary, usually within 24 hours. No payment needed to plan.
