Private tour with your own English-speaking guide · 5 days / 4 nights · Phnom Penh – Kep – Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay) – Kampot – Phnom Penh
This Kep and Kampot private tour is Cambodia at an easy pace. From Phnom Penh, your driver and guide take you south to Kep, the country's smallest coastal province, a sleepy seaside town of old villas, sea breezes and some of the freshest seafood in the region.
From Kep a boat carries you to Rabbit Island, known locally as Koh Tonsay, for a swim and a seafood lunch on the sand. Back on the mainland, you browse the famous crab market where women pull traps straight from the sea. Then you move to Kampot, a riverside town of faded colonial shophouses, to see how Kampot pepper is grown and how salt is harvested from the flats.
A free day lets you rest by the pool, sit in a café or head to the beach, and the trip ends with a relaxed drive back to Phnom Penh. It pairs well with Angkor or Phnom Penh as the final chapter of a longer journey.
Easy. Drives are about three hours from Phnom Penh to Kep and about three to four hours back from Kampot, with short hops in between. Walking is light, mostly on farm paths and in town. Very suitable for older travelers, couples and families with children over 10.
Four nights: two at a seaside hotel in Kep and two at a riverside hotel in Kampot, in 4-star or best-available boutique properties chosen when you book. An overnight on Koh Rong or Koh Rong Samloem can replace the last Kampot night on request.
November to April brings dry weather, calm seas and the best conditions for the Rabbit Island boat trip. From May to October the coast is green and quiet, but afternoon storms are common and the boat crossing can be choppy or postponed. Salt harvesting usually takes place in the dry months, roughly January to May.
Your guide and driver are yours alone for the whole trip, so the pace, the stops and the start time each morning follow you. The standard version has an English-speaking guide; guides who speak French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese can be arranged on request.

Drive to Kampot, stopping at a working pepper plantation to see how Kampot's prized pepper is grown, picked and dried. Where timing allows, visit the salt fields outside town, where salt is raked from shallow pans by hand. In the afternoon, choose a gentle cruise or a kayak trip on the Kampot River with the green slopes of Bokor on the horizon, then wander the colonial riverside quarter.
