Private tour with your own English-speaking guide · 12 days / 11 nights · Kuta/Legian – Gianyar – Tirta Empul – Uluwatu – Jimbaran – Tanjung Benoa – Ubud – Tegallalang – Bedugul – Tanah Lot – Benoa Harbor
This Bali family holiday balances discovery and downtime. You stay all eleven nights at one 4-star hotel in Kuta or Legian, close to the beach, so there is no packing and unpacking. On touring days a private air-conditioned van and an English-speaking guide take you out to the island's best-known temples, villages and landscapes, and bring you back in time for the pool.
The outings are paced for children. You visit the craft villages and holy springs of Gianyar, watch the sun drop behind the cliffs of Uluwatu before a seafood dinner on Jimbaran beach, look at coral from a glass-bottom boat, walk among the temples and macaques of Ubud's forest, and see Ulun Danu Beratan floating on its mountain lake.
Between these days you have five free days to swim, surf, shop or simply rest. One evening is spent on a sunset dinner cruise along the coast, an easy, happy way to end a family trip.
Easy. Guided days are half to full days with drives of one to two hours each way and light walking at temples and markets. Five free days keep the pace gentle. Well suited to families with children, including teens, and to grandparents traveling with them.
Eleven nights at a 4-star hotel in Kuta or Legian with family or twin rooms (two rooms for a family of five): Solia Legian, Kuta Beach Hotel or Wina Holiday Villa Kuta (Superior Pool View rooms), or similar.
April to October is the dry season and the easiest time for a beach holiday, with July, August and Christmas–New Year being peak family travel periods. November to March brings short tropical showers, usually in the afternoon, and greener landscapes. Over New Year's Eve many hotels hold a compulsory gala dinner at an extra charge.
Your guide and driver are yours alone for the whole trip, so the pace, the stops and the start time each morning follow you. The standard version has an English-speaking guide; guides who speak French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese can be arranged on request.

After breakfast, your guide takes you to Gianyar, Bali's heartland of art and craft. Watch silversmiths at work in Celuk and woodcarvers shaping masks and figures in Mas, where children can see each step from raw block to finished piece. Continue to Tirta Empul, a temple built around sacred springs, where Balinese families come to bathe in the stone pools for purification. Lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.
Overnight: Kuta/Legian · Meals: B, L
Spend the morning at leisure, then head to the southern tip of the island. Uluwatu Temple stands on a high limestone cliff above the Indian Ocean, and the clifftop path gives wide views of the coastline and the surf below. Take your time with photos as the light softens. In the evening, continue to Jimbaran Bay for a seafood dinner at tables set on the beach as the sun goes down.
Overnight: Kuta/Legian · Meals: B, D
Drive to Tanjung Benoa, a calm, family-friendly stretch of coast on the Nusa Dua peninsula. Board a glass-bottom boat to look down on the reef and its fish without getting wet, an easy activity that younger children love. Lunch is at a seaside restaurant in Tanjung Benoa, then return to the hotel for a quiet afternoon. Extra water sports can be arranged locally if the family wants more action.

A day to recharge. Swim, read by the pool, shop for sarongs and souvenirs, or try a Balinese massage. If you would like an outing, we can arrange a cooking class or a surf lesson at extra cost.
Overnight: Kuta/Legian · Meals: B
Head inland to Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali. Walk through the Sacred Monkey Forest, where long-tailed macaques roam among giant banyan trees, moss-covered statues and old temples; your guide shares tips for keeping a respectful distance. Continue to the layered rice fields of Tegallalang and their centuries-old subak irrigation. After lunch in Ubud, browse the craft stalls of Ubud Market and visit Ubud Palace, the former royal residence with fine carved gates.
Overnight: Kuta/Legian · Meals: B, L
Drive up to the cool highlands of central Bali. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple seems to float on Lake Beratan, framed by mountains and gardens, and the fresh air is a nice change from the coast. Lunch is at a restaurant in the Bedugul area. In the afternoon, head down to the west coast for Tanah Lot, a temple set on a rock surrounded by the sea and especially beautiful towards sunset. Browse the local stalls before returning to the hotel.

Enjoy a relaxed morning at the hotel. In the late afternoon, a shared transfer takes you to Benoa Harbor for a sunset dinner cruise along the Bali coast.
