In short

Paradise Grand is Paradise Vietnam's five-star ship on Lan Ha Bay, sailing from Tuan Chau Island with 39 cabins in four categories, each with a balcony or terrace. Programs are two days and one night or three days and two nights, with meals on board, Dark and Bright cave, Frog Pond, kayaking and an open-air cinema. Why it is worth it

Every cabin opens onto its own outdoor space, which is unusual on Lan Ha Bay: Grand Balcony cabins are 28 sqm on the main deck, Executive Grand Balcony 28 sqm on the upper deck, Grand Balcony Suites and the bow-facing Captain's View Grand Suite 35 sqm with bathtub and walk-in closet. The 450 sqm sundeck is one of the largest on the bay, with a jacuzzi, and the ship has a spa, butler and room service, a piano lounge and 'Cinema by the sea' film nights. Menus were devised by a Michelin-starred chef, and the program adds tai chi, yoga, a cooking demonstration, live music and squid fishing with the captain.

With up to 120 guests on the sundeck this is a lively ship and a good value, not a hideaway. Couples seeking silence should choose Heritage Line; families with children over ten and groups of friends will enjoy the space and the activity list.

How we fit it into your private trip

We use Paradise Grand as the bay night in family and classic Vietnam itineraries where value matters and the group is larger. It follows two or three nights in Hanoi, with our private car to Tuan Chau (about two and a half hours) and the same car on the return, usually straight to Hanoi airport for an afternoon flight to Hue or Da Nang. Two nights suit families who want a lazier day.

Itineraries we often build around it:

Frequently asked questions

Can children join?

Yes. Paradise Vietnam prices cabins for two adults and one child, and its booking engine takes children from 5 to 11 and infants under 5. Cabins have twin or double beds; for two children we book two cabins or a suite and confirm extra-bed rules with the operator.

How is Paradise Grand different from Heritage Line's ships?

Scale and price. Paradise Grand has 39 cabins and a sundeck for 120, with a cinema, band and full activity list. Heritage Line's Ylang, Ginger and Violet carry 12 to 24 guests at a higher rate and a slower pace. We suggest Paradise Grand for families and groups, Heritage Line for couples.

How do we get there from Hanoi?

By private car with your Metta driver, about two and a half hours on the expressway to Tuan Chau Island. Check-in is at the Paradise lounge there. On day two we route the same car to Hanoi airport, Ninh Binh or back to your Hanoi hotel.

Is the rate per cabin or per person?

Paradise Vietnam publishes rates per cabin for two adults, by cabin category and date. Price is confirmed in your written quote, including the private car from Hanoi.
