In short

Why it is worth it

The ship is built for families who still want a proper suite. Oasis, Harmony and Sky Suites are 32 sqm with super-king or twin beds and interconnecting options; the Harmony Family Suite is 48 sqm for five, the Sky Family Suite 43 sqm for five; La Suite de Capella is 57 sqm and the Owner Suite 92 sqm. On deck there is an Oasis pool with jacuzzi, a floating ocean pool, an inflatable waterslide, a mini-golf course and a cigar and poker club. The one-night program includes four meals, a cooking demonstration, happy hour, squid fishing, morning tai chi and the Dark and Bright cave by rowing boat or kayak.

With up to 60 guests this is a social ship rather than a quiet one; couples wanting silence should look at Heritage Line's smaller boats. Drinks, spa and the Hanoi transfer are extra, and the three-night program reaches further into the bay.

How we fit it into your private trip

We book Capella for family itineraries where children need something to do on the boat. It slots in after two or three Hanoi nights, with our private car to Tuan Chau (about two and a half hours) and a driver waiting on the return. For a 14-day family trip we use the two-night program and continue by afternoon flight to Da Nang or Hoi An.

Frequently asked questions

Can children join, and is there enough for them to do?

Yes. The ship has a waterslide, two pools, mini-golf and family suites for five, and the program includes a cooking demonstration and squid fishing. We confirm the operator's current age rules per cabin type when we quote.

One night or two?

One night covers the Dark and Bright cave and the pool deck. Two nights add a second day deeper in Lan Ha Bay and a quieter afternoon, which families with teenagers usually prefer. Three nights is for guests who want the bay as a resort stay.

How do we get there from Hanoi?

By private car with your Metta driver, about two and a half hours to Pier 20B at Tuan Chau International Port. The operator's own shuttle is not included; our car waits at check-out so you can continue to Hanoi airport or Ninh Binh.

Is the rate per cabin or per person?

Capella publishes rates per cabin for two guests, with family suites priced for up to five. Price is confirmed in your written quote, including transfers and any extra beds.
