This enchanting 3-day tour offers the possibility to explore the ancient Empire of Khmers. You will see the spectaculars sights of North-eastern Thailand and the views of its neighboring country, Cambodia. You will visit the most beautiful temples which are engrained with rich cultural architecture. You will also have the chance to admire the impressive sceneries along the way in Khao Yai National Park and get up close to the historical sites this trip has to offer.

Outlined Itinerary

Day 1 (-/L/-) Bangkok – Saraburi – Lopburi – Khao Yai National Park

Day 2 (B/L/-) Khao Yai National Park – Si Khiu – Pimai – Korat  

Day 3 (B/L/-) Korat – Phanom Rung – Muang Tam – Buriram – Bangkok

Day 1
Day 1: (-/L/-) Bangkok – Saraburi – Lopburi – Khao Yai National Park

Depart from Bangkok in the morning for North-eastern Thailand. Our first stop is at Saraburi. There, you will visit the site of Phra Phutthabat Shrine which shelters the prints of the feet of Buddha and many bells of temples. After that, you proceed to Lopburi, and visit Wat Phra Si Maha Then, you will see the oldest temple with the tallest Prang in Lopburi, Phra Prang Sam Yod, a temple with three towers and impressive ornaments. Eventually, you can admire Prang Khaek, the oldest monument and Khmer-style Hindu Shrine found in Thailand’s central region. Lunch break at a local restaurant. On the way to Khao Yai National Park, discover Wat Theppithak that holds the gigantic Buddha sitting on the hill. Finally, head towards the fruit market of Klang Dong. Arrival and check-in at your hotel.

Day 2
Day 2 (B/L/-) Khao Yai National Park – Si Khiu – Pimai – Korat

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Drive through Khao Yai National Park, which extends along a 2,000km road in a mountainous landscape. Enjoy the excursion and the cascades from Haew Suwat, Klong Kaew, and its original bridge suspension made of bamboo. You will make various stops en route to give passengers time to take photos and sightsee. You then proceed to Korat, via Si Khiu stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue towards Pimai Historical Park and discover Khmer temples, which are fine examples of “Angkor Wat” architecture.

Day 3
Day 3 (B/L/-) Korat – Phanom Rung – Muang Tam – Buriram – Bangkok

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. You drive further North-east to visit the impressive Khmer temples of Prasat Phnom Rung Historical Park in Buriram province. There, its well-known Prasat Hin Pahom Rung is located on the top of the Phanom Rung Mount. It is thought that it was originally built in the 12th century A.D. Now that it is partially restored in its original state, it is believed to have been constructed in the 11thcentury; next to it is Prasat Hin Muang Tam. Both temples resemble the Angkor temple ruins and the complexes, located in Cambodia. You stop for lunch at a local restaurant and after that drive back to hotel in Bangkok (Approx… 6hours driving) you may arrive at your hotel in Bangkok at night time.
