Private tour with your own English-speaking guide · 8 days / 7 nights · Seoul – Suwon – Andong – Hahoe – Gyeongju – Busan
This Korea heritage tour travels from north to south through seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, with a private guide and driver so you can go at your own pace. You start in Seoul with the royal palaces of Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung and the hanok lanes of Bukchon, then spend a day in Suwon walking the walls of Hwaseong Fortress, an 18th-century masterpiece of fortress design and town planning.
From Seoul the road leads into the green hills of North Gyeongsang province to Andong, heartland of Korea's Confucian scholars. At Hahoe Folk Village, families still live in tiled and thatched houses inside a loop of the Nakdong River, and nearby Byeongsan Seowon is one of the country's loveliest old academies.
You then continue to Gyeongju, capital of the Silla kingdom, for royal burial mounds, Bulguksa Temple, the Seokguram Grotto and the clan village of Yangdong. The journey ends on the coast in Busan, with its temple above the waves and a final evening of fresh seafood by the harbor.
Easy to moderate. Walking is mostly on flat village paths and palace grounds, with some steps at temples and on the fortress walls. The longest drive is from Seoul to Andong, about three hours with a stop. Suits older travelers and families with children over 10.
Seven nights at 4-star level: a 4-star hotel in central Seoul (three nights), a 4-star hotel or upscale traditional hanok stay in Andong (one night), a 4-star hotel in Gyeongju (two nights) and a 4-star hotel in Busan (one night).
April to May and late September to early November are the best months, with mild weather, spring blossoms and autumn colors in the countryside around Andong and Gyeongju. Summer is hot and humid with monsoon rain in July. Winter is cold but clear and very quiet in the villages. Avoid Chuseok and Lunar New Year if you prefer fewer crowds.
Your guide and driver are yours alone for the whole trip, so the pace, the stops and the start time each morning follow you. The standard version has an English-speaking guide; guides who speak French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese can be arranged on request.

Your guide meets you at Incheon International Airport and takes you by private car to your hotel in central Seoul, about an hour away. After check-in, rest or take a short walk along Cheonggyecheon, a stream that runs through the city center, with lights and stepping stones after dark. Your guide will go through the plan for the road trip ahead and suggest a nearby restaurant for Korean barbecue.
